Team Vito Skoda duo Ricardo Teodósio / José Teixeira, national rally champions in title, after two podiums in the first two races of the Portugal Rally Championship (CPR), want to enter the fight for victory in the Rally Vinho Madeira, third round of the season.
With their eyes set on one of the most famous asphalt events in Europe, the Algarve pair competed in the Calheta Rally, a test that was disputed in some of the sections that will be used in the Pearl of the Atlantic queen race, in preparation for the third round of the CPR and now they feel confident in the Skoda Fabia R5 Evo set-up.
“We are going to Madeira with the objective of recovering points in the CPR. Starting the year with two podiums is not bad, but we want to enter the fight for victory among the CPR competitors, knowing that we will have a very strong competition. We were experimenting with various things in the car during the Calheta Rally and I was satisfied with what we found in the set-up. We will still do a little test before the race to see if everything is fine, but we are confident ”, concluded the Albufeira pilot.
On the other hand, navigator José Teixeira, highlighted “The special environment that lives on the island of Madeira around the rallies. We are going through an atypical phase, but I am sure that the Madeira Wine Rally will continue to be a party, with the natural safety measures that we all have to adopt at this time ”, he stated.
The 2020 edition of the Madeira Wine Rally will have a total of 16 asphalt classifications, divided between Friday (August 7) and Saturday (August 8), making a total of 160.66 timed kilometers.
