According to a statement from the General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB), the event will take place at the National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature and will be attended by the Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, as well as the president of the Association of Writers of China, Tie Ning.
After a first edition in Lisbon in June 2017, the second event will cross the three Portuguese authors with the Chinese Lu Min, Liu Zhenyun and Xu Zechen, in a conversation that will be moderated by another writer, Qiu Huadong.
José Luís Peixoto had already participated in the first edition, then alongside Gonçalo M. Tavares and Dulce Maria Cardoso.
According to the statement, the highlight will be the panel on the theme "Vision and Imagination", scheduled for the afternoon.
In the morning, a presentation on "Chinese and Portuguese literature and its internationalization" is scheduled, with DGLAB's book services director Maria Carlos Loureiro and Qiu Huadong.
The measure is part of the Festival of Portuguese Culture in China, promoted by Portugal as part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 20 years of Macao's sovereignty to the People's Republic of China.
"This forum is taking place within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Portuguese Republic and China in the field of books and literature, signed in 2015," explains DGLAB, which reinforces the partnership between the Chinese Writers Association and this body.
