The Tomaz Cabreira Civic Association – Citizenship and Participation, based in the Faro area, is a non-profit association that aims at "civic intervention and cultural dissemination".
Tomaz Cabreira, born on January 23, 1865, was a military man, teacher, writer and politician, namely Portugal's Finance Minister in 1914, having been closely linked to the establishment of the Republic and its universal values.
"Hence the inspiration in this character, a national reference Algarve, for the denomination of this association, whose intervention is intended to be local and also global," said the association.
