Toughbook 55: Panasonic Launches New Modular Notebook for Business - Computers

Panasonic recently unveiled its new Toughbook 55. The handset has been designed based on a modular design that allows us to replace or add components.

With the computer were also released extra packs that can add more ports to the laptop, graphics cards, fingerprint readers and storage disks. The international press writes that everything is easy to assemble, thus facilitating the exercises of "handiwork" for users. RAM and keyboard can also be replaced.

One of the advantages of this modular design lies in the autonomy of the computer itself. Since it has two removable batteries, one can simply be replaced with a new one to extend the life of the machine without having to turn it off. Given that the computer was designed with the business in mind, this is a good way to ensure that the computer does not turn off even when you need to work on the ground.

This is the first Panasonic Toughbook with eighth generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, USB-C, HDMI 2.0 and Bluetooth 5.0. The display is touchscreen and reaches 1,000 nits of brightness. RAM is up to 64GB and internal storage can reach 2TB.

The Toughbook 55 has a base value of $ 2,099 and is now available. However, module prices have not yet been advanced by technology. Note that this is not a conventional notebook, so it should not be of great interest to the average consumer. Instead, Panasonic hopes to be able to convince the business market by providing a consistent solution that can remain operational even under extreme conditions.
