Training on “parental skills for children with disorders” opens in Silves

The city council of Silves in partnership with the Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth (CPCJ) of Silves promotes in February and March 2021 a training course on “Promotion of Parenting Skills for Children with Affective-Behavioral Disorders”. The training will take place in e-learning, and will be promoted by Marta Vidal Paula, trainer of the Educarte Project.

For Professionals with higher education (or finalists) in the areas of Education, Social Work, Psychology or Health; and aims to develop intervention methodologies with parents of children with affective-behavioral problems, in order to promote their adaptation and develop strategies to facilitate the child's growth and adjustment process. «It is intended that the trainees will be able to identify the stages of the process of adaptation of the parents to the diagnosis of disturbance of the children; describe the dynamics of creating, maintaining and modifying the child's self and hetero-image; to define measures to promote responsiveness and parental demand and to value the role of parents as role models for their children, investing in their building », describes the organization.

Those interested in participating should register (or request more information) with the Psychology Sector of the local authority ([email protected]), with a cost of € 60.00 (payment made directly to the entity) trainer, through IBAN – PT50 0007 0020 0021 3570 0033 4, on behalf of Marta Vidal Paula). The documents to be delivered at the time of registration are as follows: Registration form, copy of the citizen's card, copy of the driver's license or student card (if applicable) and proof of payment.

The training will have a minimum of 6 trainees and a maximum of 25, it gives a Certificate equivalent to level VII of the Postgraduate Diploma in Family Intervention and Promotion of Parenting Skills or a Certificate of Attendance if the assessment is not carried out.


»5 asynchronous sessions: through Educarte's moodle (access will be provided one week before the first synchronous session);
»5 synchronous sessions: videoconferences to clarify doubts and case studies (via Zoom), lasting 1 hour;
– The synchronous sessions (videoconferences) will be: on Saturdays (February 20 and 27 and March 6, 13 and 20, 2021) – from 10 am to 11 am
– Access to the 1st asynchronous session (classes in moodle) will be one week before the 1st synchronous session: February 13th.
