'TSB Odyssey' with route between Lagos and Vilamoura this Sunday

Entitled ‘Odyssey TSB’, this is an event that crosses different water courses in the country, on board a competition vessel, developed by a team of students from the Instituto Superior Técnico.

Founded in 2015, the ‘Técnico Solar Boat’ project is currently made up of around fifty students, mostly from Instituto Superior Técnico, whose goal is to develop competition prototypes powered by renewable energies.

Currently there are already two solar prototypes built, one more still under development powered by hydrogen and a third solar prototype that will be built soon.

The prototypes developed aim to participate in international competitions, which take place in Monaco and in the Netherlands, so that to date, the 'Técnico Solar Boat' has participated in 3 years of competitions, having achieved the best classification in the past summer always, a spectacular 2nd place.

This year, due to the pandemic context that the world is going through, the competitions were canceled so the 'Técnico Solar Boat' decided to promote himself in Portugal, having idealized several routes from North to South of the country, calling the event at its 'TSB Odyssey' whole.

The first route was on the Douro River, on August 28, between Entre-os-Rios and Porto, last Saturday, September 5, the route was between Lisbon and Cascais, on the 9th it was between Sesimbra and Setúbal and the The final route will take place next Sunday, between Lagos and Vilamoura.

The 'Técnico Boat Boat' stresses that this new initiative is very important to get in touch with the community, hoping that it will have a great impact on the inhabitants of the locations where they have passed and will pass, since the objective is to publicize the project, the energies energy, sustainability and electric mobility, in favor of a healthier environment.
