TVI is committed to regaining audience leadership and one of the assets could be Fernando Mendes. At Correio da Manhã, the host of "The Right Price" confirmed that he has already been contacted by the Queluz de Baixo station.
"It is true that they contacted me, but I will not comment further. I apologize," Fernando Mendes told the newspaper. The presenter has been on RTP1 for over 15 years and, according to the Observer, receives about 15 thousand euros per month.
To Correio da Manhã, a channel source also confirmed that Fernando Mendes is "the main bet" of the channel.
In late July, Media Capital confirmed in a statement a restructuring of TVI's management. Bruno Santos, previously Director General of Antenna and Programs, left the channel, ending his relationship with the group. Program directing is now in the hands of Felipa Garnel.
During TVI's Summer Party, the channel's new programmer stressed that there are "decisions to make". "TVI cannot be in second place. Second place is not the place of TVI," Felipa Garnel said in a statement to TVI's Selfie website.
