"Typewriter" is one of Netflix's latest bets. The Indian miniseries has five episodes, which premiered July 19 on the streaming service, and has become a phenomenon of popularity on social networks in a few weeks.
On Twitter, thousands of viewers point out that the series is "scary" and "chilling." Some even say they could not sleep after watching the episodes of the series directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
Typewriter accompanies three young people living in Goa, India. "Three young friends from Goa plan to look for ghosts in an old mansion, but when a new family moves in there, the past resurfaces chillingly," Netflix says in the episode description. But the whole adventure begins years earlier, when grandfather Madhav Matthews begins writing a new book, "The Ghost of Sultanpore."
The big mystery of the series lies in his grandfather's old typewriter. Throughout the episodes, the three young men set off on an adventure to try to find out the end of Madhav Matthews's book.
