UAlg Day Commemorative Ceremony takes place online

The commemorative ceremony of the Day of the University of Algarve, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, 16, at 18:00 hours, will not take place in person due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so only the speakers will be present, being transmitted online.

The ceremony begins with the intervention of Vítor Neto, president of the General Council of UAlg.

This is followed by the delivery of the University Medal to employees who complete 25 years of service at the Institution.

Graça Rafael, an employee of the Social Action Services, will continue the ceremony with an intervention on behalf of non-teaching staff.

With the support of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the University of Algarve Prize will be awarded to graduates with merit in the 2018/2019 academic year.

Later, Raquel Jacob, president of the Academic Association, will speak on behalf of the students.

After the presentation of the «New Doctors UAlg», Cátia Martins, professor at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, will speak on behalf of the professors.

Almost finished, a thank you will be made to employees and teachers retired in 2020, with Dean Paulo Águas closing the ceremony for the 41st anniversary of the University of Algarve with his intervention.

The session will be broadcast online on the UAlg Portal, on Facebook, and on the YouTube Channel.
