Universidade do Algarve launches the 7th edition of the «Ideias em Caixa» contest

The University of Algarve is organizing the 7th edition of the “Ideias em Caixa” contest, which aims to stimulate entrepreneurship and the creation of new companies in the region, with a total budget of 30 thousand euros.

The initiative is promoted through the Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division – CRIA, in partnership with the Business Association of the Algarve Region (NERA) and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE).

The contest provides for the awarding of prizes worth 5,000 euros to the winners, making a total of 30,000 euros, in the following six categories: I&DT – Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC) and Information Technologies, Communication Award and Electronics (TICE), Agrifood, Health and Wellness, Renewable Energies and Sea.

Applications are open until February 26, 2021 and can be completed here.

The initiative has three distinct phases, culminating the last with the presentation of business models to the jury. Until the final stage, all participants will have access to a set of maturation seminars and workshops, where they will develop their business ideas through specialized consultancy in the different areas of business creation and management, marketing, finance, obtaining financing, among others. other topics.

Since its 1st edition, this initiative has registered more than 400 applications, having supported the creation and consolidation of more than 40 companies in the region, thus contributing to the creation of value for the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Algarve region.

This initiative is one of the core activities of the Restart Algarve project: Regional Entrepreneurship Support Network, co-financed by the Support System for Collective Actions – Promotion of Entrepreneurship, of the Regional Operational Program of the Algarve 2014-2020 (CRESC Algarve 2020).
