The Municipal Auditorium will once again receive public this month, under the terms currently defined by the General Health Directorate. After a long closing season, given the circumstances of public health, what is the privileged space for cultural events in the municipality of Albufeira reopens to to receive music and music lovers, with two important concerts, namely that of the Classical Southern Orchestra and a concert with the soundtrack of the film “Variações”.
“We comply with all the existing rules and are committed to reactivating the Auditorium's programming”, defends the mayor, José Carlos Rolo, thinking, “on the one hand, in the cultural professionals and, on the other, in the public, thirsty for cultural manifestations , because without them you cannot live, nor would any of this make great sense. ”
The concert of the Classical Southern Orchestra is already on the 18th, is part of the “Classics Light’20” cycle, with works by various composers and will have guest conductor, John Avery.
On September 26th we will have the Band of the Film 'Variações' that joins Sérgio Praia (actor who plays the role of António Variações in the film), to the musicians Duarte Cabaça, David Santos, Vasco Duarte and Armando Teixeira, music producer responsible for the soundtrack of the movie. This production marks the debut of Sérgio Praia as a singer and the return of the musician, composer and producer Armando Teixeira, who, through the famous tapes of António Variações, embodied the songs he recorded in the garage, with amateur musicians, at the end of the years 70. 'Take the pill', 'Teia', 'I lost my memory', 'Canção do hitch' or 'I want to show it', an unprecedented theme found in the collection of António Variações, are some of the themes that make up the soundtrack of the film and that will be presented, live, in a unique show full of surprises and emotions. The Film Band ‘Variations’ will celebrate with the devotion and enthusiasm the songs of the extraordinary Portuguese singer.
Both concerts are for people over 6 years old and the respective tickets are € 5.00, which can be purchased at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery (next to the Auditorium), on weekdays, from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. If seats are still available, they can also be purchased on the day of the show, at the Municipal Auditorium, between 7:30 pm and 9:15 pm.
