In order to replace Salema's old and already degraded prefabricated fishery support modules, the Vila do Bispo City Council purchased ten new modules and ten containers for a total value of 99,433,20 euros.
Modules and containers intended for collecting fishing gear will thus contribute to improving the working conditions of professionals in the sector.
Following the signing of the respective transfer contracts for the use of prefabricated modules and containers, on July 25, Salema's nine fishermen received their keys from the mayor, Adelino Soares.
For the municipality, this measure aims to promote and support the development of existing economic activities in the municipality, thus recognizing the public interest in supporting activities related to professional fishing, the promotion of fishery products and their dissemination, as well as
how to improve the image of the urban area of that locality.
