In times of pandemic, Vilamoura was the stage, last week, of the World Sailing Championships.
In the men's 470 class, who qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games, Portuguese sailors Pedro and Diogo Costa secured the qualification.
The national duo secured the only available spot, thus joining the Portuguese entourage.
In just four years of activity, they went through Vilamoura Sailing, the Vilamoura Sailing Training Center, close to 30,000 sailors, from the main sailing teams from around the world.
But Vilamora Sailing does not only score in major sporting events. With more world competitions scheduled, the center plans to generate more than 15 million euros this year in the region's economy.
