The Vilamoura Triathlon ended the season on October 27, in the 3rd and final stages of the National Long Distance Triathlon Club and Individual Championship, in which several Algarvians were featured.
Individually and in absolute terms, the Algarve athlete Liliana Veríssimo, who represents the Golegã Sporting Center, won the title of individual long triathlon national champion, with the mark of 07:21:25 hours, while Miguel Arraiolos (Benfica), Olympic athlete has triumphed in men.
The race started in Vilamoura waters in a two-lane triangular course, totaling 3,000 meters, followed by three 121-km cycling laps, ending with six running laps totaling 29.6 km.
The Algarve athletes won national titles in their age group: Carlos Cabrita, Sara Sá and Marcus Ornellas, all from Louletano, Nuno Neves (individual) and Liliana Veríssimo.
This event, integrated in the Algarve Tri Run Vilamoura-Quarteira 5.0., Was organized by the Municipality of Loulé and was supported by the Triathlon Federation of Portugal, Crowne Plaza Vilamoura and local associations.
