The gastronomic space that belongs to Bela Vista Hotel & Spa, in the municipality of Portimão, renewed its Michelin Star for the year 2021. Better, for the third consecutive year, Chef João Oliveira and his team are distinguished in the most influential gastronomic guide of the year, as diariOnline Região Sul yesterday reported.
At the ceremony held yesterday (14) in Madrid, marked by the rules of social distance and therefore (naturally) the lack of public, about 27 restaurants and Chefs from around the world were awarded Michelin stars. With over 12 years of experience, five of which at the head of VISTA Restaurante, João Oliveira has been on the list since 2017, the year he was first featured in the Michelin Guide for Portugal and Spain.
“Despite the difficult year for the hotel and catering sectors, we are not going to let our arms down. Innovation continues to be a hallmark of our service, as well as adaptation and reinvention within our kitchens.
The VISTA team is already preparing Christmas and New Year's Eve menus for all those who will join us, with the most special flavors of 2020.
At a particularly important moment, the Michelin Guide gains an added importance as it distinguishes the quality of many chefs who perform their functions with the highest quality even if the current conditions are not the most favorable ”, says Chef João Oliveira.
It should be noted that João Oliveira took on functions at VISTA Restaurante as Chef of one of the best spaces in the southern region and, since then, he has dedicated himself 100% to this project. Along this route, the gastronomic experience has been elevated to a level of excellence, combining gastronomy with the privileged view over the sea that the restaurant offers from Praia da Rocha.
