The second session of the "Herético e Liberário" film series, which honors Vítor Reia-Baptista, a professor at the University of Algarve who died in 2018, will take place next Wednesday, 20 in Faro, with "Monica and Desire".
«Sommaren Med Monika», in the original language, is a film by Swedish director Ingmar Bergman, released in 1953, which marked the filmmakers of the «nouvelle vague».
"Half a century after his debut, his modernity remains one of the references of Ingmar Bergman's masterpiece, which tells of the passion of two teenagers fleeing their families to seek illusions of happiness in the islands of the archipelago", points out the Cinemateca Portuguesa.
The presentation of the session – which will take place at 3:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Algarve regional director of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth in Faro – will be in charge of Isa Catarina Mateus, responsible for the Training Committee of the Cineclube of Faro.
The "Homage and Libertarian" homage cycle, organized by Cineclubede Faro and the Center for Research in Arts and Communication (CIAC), with the support and collaboration of the School of Education and Communication, started in February and lasts until the end of 2019.
Admission is free for UAlg students and faculty.
