"Women of Africa" is the name of the watercolor exhibition by the artist Zélia Ferreira, which will be open to the public at the Praça do Mar Art Gallery in Quarteira from November 3 to December 8.
This show is a journey about the culture and traditions of African people. It is through women with their traditional costumes and adornments that the Angolan artist Zélia Reis Ferreira reveals the cultural richness of these peoples who, over the centuries, still resist and thus express their culture, their level and social status, or your feelings.
In these works in watercolors we can witness a small tribute by the artist to the "African Soul" in her most tender and penetrating expression expressed by her "mommies" who are the strength and the balance of a people that, for the most part on this continent, base their own society in the matriarchal system.
The exhibition opens on November 3 at 6:00 p.m., and can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission is free.
