The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, called on Saturday to vote in the elections to the European Parliament, which will take place this Sunday.
"My message today goes to the call for a vote," the head of state said in remarks to reporters on the sidelines of the conference "First Forum of Economists of Portuguese Speaking Cities" in Lisbon.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa stressed that the "few" times he intervened "in the last month" was always to appeal to the vote.
"If you do not vote, then do not come and say that you repent, do not come and say that others ended up making choices other than those you wanted," he said. "The vote is from each one and wasting it is truly, at all times, but now in particular, a huge mistake," he concluded.
