"The relevance of gaming to the entertainment industry is already beyond question. We are talking about a market that has generated over US $ 134 billion in 2018 and has more than 2.2 billion consumers – gamers, "said Roberta Medina, Executive Vice President of Rock in Rio.
"The introduction of this concept in Rock in Rio is not from now on. This movement began in 2017, in Rio de Janeiro, with the introduction of new industries and content in the City of Rock, allowing us to raise the experience to another level. In 2018, and after the success of GameXP in Brazil, we brought this idea to Lisbon and, together with Worten, we created the first gaming arena to join a festival in Portugal – the Worten Game Ring arena, which was visited by more of 30,000 people during the festival, "he says.
For three days (between May 31 and June 2), Worten Game City will be installed in one of the most emblematic buildings in Lisbon, with more than ten zones of experience. There's Retro Gaming, a trip back to the gaming world; Laser Tag, a unique experience of adrenaline and emotion, in a setting that transports the visitor to another galaxy and dimension; a Dark Room with experiences of virtual reality and augmented reality; a Garage Stage dedicated to music and a space where the audience will be able to go through the experience of being a rock star at times; the Try and Play, an area of experimentation and launches of the world of gaming; Offline Boulevard, an area where games come to life and leave the screens to become reality; a beer garden to think about adults; a Power Up (or zone of restoration) to recover energies; a Dancing Stage; and many other activations.
But the main arena of this city is located in Temple Worten Game Ring, a gaming area in which various tournaments (such as FIFA, CS: GO, LOL and Fortnite) and activities related to this universe will take place.
"After the success of the Worten Game Ring arena at Rock in Rio-Lisboa, Worten is again committed to creating content for a community we are closer to. Our goal is to democratize gaming, provide different and immersive experiences to Portuguese families and show that this universe is, after all, appealing to everyone, from '8 to 80'. Therefore, we could not fail to be present in the creation of this new 'city, "says Mário Pereira, COO of Worten.
Roberta Medina also adds that "the relationship between Worten and Rock in Rio is now non-stop. The content of gaming is present every year in our calendar, or in events such as Worten Game City – which happens in a unique year – in the middle of Rock in Rio-Lisbon. "
Tickets for this event will be on sale from April 9th, exclusively in Worten and Worten.pt stores, with several options: general ticket for three days (€ 17); ticket for children and young people between three and 11 years old (€ 9); pack family for two adults and two children (€ 43) and a group ticket for schools for more than ten people (€ 7).
