The young Joana Ramos, from the Alcoutim Sports Group, won the national K1 200 meters female cadet title at the National Canoeing Speed Championship this weekend in Montemor-o-Velho.
Besides the title of national champion, the young Alcouteneja canoeist also got 2nd place in the K1 500 meters event in female cadets.
Joana Ramos had already achieved the title of national champion individually, as well as twice won the title of national champion in K2.
With this performance, the athlete from Alcoutim was summoned to a stage of the national cadet selection, with a view to possible participation in the Olympic Hopes, a race aimed at Olympic hopes to be held in Bratislava (Slovakia), from 13 to 15 September.
In a statement, the mayor of Alcoutim, Osvaldo Gonçalves, greeted the Alcouteneja athlete for the achievement, mentioning its importance “in reinforcing the image of the municipality with sporting potential, where sport has infrastructures and various support programs that encourage the individual practice and especially sports associations ”.
The athletes of the Alcoutim Sports Group have won 20 national titles to date, reinforces the local authority.
